“Grand Theft Auto VI” pre-loading to begin on November 10; Rockstar reveals game file size

Rockstar Games has announced the pre-load date for Grand Theft Auto VI, just weeks ahead of its release. Pre-loading for the digital version of this open-world crime game will begin on November 10 for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X—nine days before the official launch. Rockstar has also confirmed the storage space requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI.
Originally scheduled to begin on November 12—one week prior to the official release—the digital pre-load will now start earlier. On Tuesday, Rockstar announced that pre-loading for GTA VI on PS5 will commence at midnight (local time) on Tuesday, November 10. For Xbox Series S/X, pre-loading will become available globally at 12:00 AM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on November 10.
Physical copies of the game (containing a redemption code) will be available at retail outlets starting November 12. Consequently, those who purchase the digital version via the PlayStation or Xbox stores will be able to begin pre-loading GTA VI at least two days earlier than those acquiring the physical version.
GTA 6 Preload File Size
Rockstar has confirmed the storage space required for Grand Theft Auto VI preload files. Depending on the platform, the game will require up to 212 GB of storage space. Reports from last week indicated that the game would need 210 GB on consoles. Grand Theft Auto VI is set to become the largest game by file size that Rockstar has ever released.
Additionally, Rockstar announced that on November 19, they will release official, printable cover art posters for Grand Theft Auto VI, along with a map of Leonida, available for players to download for free. These can be accessed via the official GTA 6 website.
Furthermore, players can purchase a double-sided physical poster from the Rockstar Store for $0.99. This poster will also be included as a bonus with any other purchase made through the store. It is currently unclear whether the physical retail edition of GTA 6 will include a poster, as has been the case with some of Rockstar’s previous titles.
Grand Theft Auto VI is now just over two weeks away from its release. Players can currently pre-order the game via the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
